NEMA 250 Type Rating on an Enclosure states that the product is built with certain constructional and ingress protection properties which will provide protection to hazardous parts, against solid foreign objects, and against water. Unlike Ingress Protection (IP) ratings, type ratings found in NEMA 250 and UL 50E include corrosion testing, oil testing, construction requirements, material designations, and more.
