EMC Engineer
Middlefield, OH
F2 Labs is seeking an EMC Engineer to join our EMC testing team in Middlefield, OH!
Responsibilities:
- Perform EMC testing in the laboratory and at client premises, and perform other tests as assigned.
- Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test).
- Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions.
- Under the scope of the project, identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing.
- Follow established test plans; set up and operate EUT and associated test equipment.
- Perform and document simple repairs or troubleshooting on EUT as needed to support testing, within authorized scope.
- Move equipment as needed through the facility and maintain safe work practices when handling equipment and test setups.
- Communicate project status and test results to clients, sales personnel, and management throughout testing.
- Provide ongoing technical support to clients as needed (test planning, troubleshooting, and follow-up testing).
- Within policy guidelines, identify, properly document, and communicate engineering judgements and technical observations.
- Work closely with management and peers on continuous improvements of EMC operations, methods, and workflows.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring of EMC engineering staff as requested.
- Perform other work as required to support the EMC department and project delivery.
- Perform work (office, laboratory, and field) in accordance with the F2 Labs Quality Manual and applicable procedures, including ISO/IEC 17025 requirements where relevant.
- Accurately complete required records (test data, checklists, logs, and other controlled forms) in accordance with document control requirements.
- Support internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities as requested.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in the office and laboratory; handle equipment and client property with care.
- Escalate quality, safety, scheduling, or technical risks promptly to management.
Qualifications:
- An Associate Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, (or similar) or have 2+ years prior EMC Technician experience w/ EMC testing.
- Prior EMC testing experience and knowledge of the EMC standards preferred.
- 2+ years of engineering experience.
- Strong communications skills and the ability to work with customers and as a team.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with common applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
- A valid driver’s license.
- Some experience with/interest in RF would be beneficial.
- Ability to travel to client sites as needed.

Compensation: Negotiable depending on the level of experience

Safety Engineer
Multiple Locations
F2 Labs is seeking both Senior and Junior Safety Engineers to join our safety testing team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform testing and evaluation on a variety of products to the provisions of U.S., Canadian, and other international product performance standards.
- Independently conduct on-site and off-site evaluations of products to determine compliance with applicable standards.
- Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test).
- Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions
- Validate project scope and sample applicability prior to and during testing.
- Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing, and confirm appropriate configuration/fitness for use.
- Follow established test plans; set up and operate EUT and associated test equipment.
- Perform testing of products in accordance with applicable standards and documented methods.
- Document testing clearly and completely to support report generation, traceability, and repeatability.
- Prepare, review, and finalize safety test reports, including addressing internal and client comments.
- Communicate project status and test results to clients, sales personnel, and management throughout testing.
- Provide ongoing support to clients as needed (technical questions, interpretations, and follow-up testing).
- Demonstrate sufficient product and standards knowledge to serve as a local subject-matter resource in one or more product categories.
- Provide sales support as requested, including participation in client meetings and presentations.
- Support calibration and maintenance activities for safety test equipment and test facilities as requested.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to ensure testing and evaluations are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring of safety engineering staff as requested.
- Participate in relevant professional safety organizations and continuing development activities, as appropriate.
- Perform work (office, laboratory, and field) in accordance with the F2 Labs Quality Manual and applicable procedures, including ISO/IEC 17025 requirements where relevant.
- Accurately complete required records (test data, checklists, logs, and other controlled forms) in accordance with document control requirements.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably electrical or mechanical engineering) and/or Associate or Technical degree or Technologist (BSc, B.Eng or CET) in an appropriate technical field
- 0-4 years related experience/experience with U.S., Canadian, and other International product safety standards, i.e., ANSI, CSA, UL, EN, IEC, IES, CIE
- Excellent communication skills, in both verbal and written formats
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Microsoft Office expertise
- Ability to travel as business needs dictate
Location: Multiple Locations
Compensation: $55,000 to $110,000 Yearly
